Ouagadougou, May 20, 2025 – As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State, held an official meeting with His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Interim President of the Republic of Burkina Faso, during a visit to the West African nation’s capital.

Exchange of Diplomatic Greetings

During the meeting, Sheikh Shakhboot conveyed warm greetings from the UAE leadership, including:

  • President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

  • His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai

  • His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court

The UAE leaders extended their best wishes for continued development and prosperity for the government and people of Burkina Faso.

In response, President Traoré expressed his appreciation and conveyed his own greetings and well wishes to the UAE leadership. He praised the strong and growing ties between the two nations and affirmed Burkina Faso’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
